“From the Gym to Iceland: Tackling Rettir with Strength and Confidence!”
Linda F, recently achieved a lifelong dream: participating in the Rettir, Iceland’s annual sheep-moving expedition. This rigorous event, held from September 10-14, involved 6-8 hours a day of rugged riding, herding sheep across Iceland’s breathtaking terrain.
To prepare for this physically demanding challenge, Linda dedicated herself to improving her core strength, shoulder stability, and overall endurance. Her goal was clear: to feel in peak shape for the expedition, ensuring she could handle tasks like mounting horses from the ground, riding for long hours, and moving sheep weighing up to 80 pounds.
During the expedition, Linda rode four different horses, navigating Iceland’s rugged landscapes and hopping on and off her horse to guide the herds. The work was intense but rewarding, as she helped move hundreds of sheep to their designated farm alongside other riders.
Linda’s hard work paid off. Thanks to her preparation, she not only met the physical demands of Rettir but also embraced the adventure with confidence and enthusiasm.
“I wanted to feel strong, capable, and ready for anything this journey threw at me. All the preparation made such a difference—I felt amazing throughout the entire expedition.”
