I joined Advantage over 10 years ago and my workouts at the gym quickly became a permanent fixture in my life. I feel healthier and stronger than ever in spite of being 10 years older. I have been working with the same extremely competent trainer for most of that time and he knows my abilities and limits better than I do. The other trainers I have worked with from time to time have also been excellent. The atmosphere at the gym is always friendly, supportive and fun and the facility itself is first class.

I’ve been a member of APT for over 12 years now and there are many aspects that keep me so consistent. I like that everybody knows each other and are truly interested in how you are doing. The Team classes are fun and challenging, and the weekly changes keep me from getting bored. I also appreciate the variety of workouts on the white boards for when I want to exercise on my own. Most importantly, APT staff members have always accommodated and modified for any injuries I’ve had. As I get older, it’s important that I trust my gym to keep me active, safe, and challenged!

Advantage Personal Training is fantastic. I trained with them to prepare for a 100 mile hike across Scotland. Let me not forget I was 69 when I did this. We worked on endurance, stability, and strength. It made a huge difference in my ability to tackle a hike like this and feel safe and complete it. I recommend Advantage for any kind of physical endeavor.

I'm in my third year of small group training, and I love it. The trainers got to know me and my needs, the results have been all I could have dreamed of ... at 75, I feel great, optimistic and, yeah, bubbling with endorphins!

Advantage Personal Training has really helped me get into a routine of exercise and strength training. The various trainers have worked with me to develop an exercise program that takes into account my age and physical ability while still being challenging and showing progress. It is very good to be active and to be part of a gym that welcomes people at all levels.

Questions

What to know before you start.

  • Am I too old to start?

No. Our doors are open to everyone from youth to seniors, no matter where you are on your fitness journey.

  • I have an injury. Can I still join?

Many of our members do. Your first session starts with your goals and health history, so tell us about your injury or surgery there.

  • How big are the small groups?

    Small Group format (2-4 people)

  • How often should I train?

There can be too much of a good thing in working out. Muscle rest and recovery is essential to your strength training plan, so for optimum results we recommend limiting yourself to 3 strength training sessions/ week, and 4-5 Team Trainings per week.
